My name is Darryl Cifarelli and I have been playing guitar for 47 years. I had the pleasure of demonstrating more than a dozen of the many fine hand made high quality acoustic guitars crafted by Cardenas & Sons Guitars for a video used on the website so that potential clients could get an idea of the diversity of sounds and tones produced by rare and beautiful woods from which they were made. The variety of size and shapes and beautifully intricate inlays will make these guitars appealing to any high end enthusiast, and they play beautifully.
If you are looking for a one of a kind high end acoustic guitar I recommend that
you give these a try. I'm sure you'll find a gem there that you'll treasure for a lifetime.

I got to know Gus over a number of weeks and was able to watch him build guitars and
to play some of the beautiful instruments he'd already constructed. It was obvious to me
that he is a painstaking and dedicated craftsman and that he would be able to make
me something that I would be proud to own, both aesthetically and musically.
It was a real joy to work with him from the ground up choosing the woods, the inlays and accessories etc., to create exactly what I was looking for. Gus was endlessly patient and helpful in fashioning what I wanted - constantly showing me different options and ideas.
I will never forget him laying out several pieces of beautifully figured book-matched
cocobolo wood and inviting me to make my selection!
The build itself was fully documented and photographed and I visited his workshop
on several occasions to discuss progress and any adjustments.
The care and attention to detail was phenomenal.
The day came when I gingerly lifted my new guitar from its case and played it for the
first time at Gus's house. I could not have been happier. I've been playing guitar since
the age of 11 and consider myself to be a decent performer and a fair judge of
what "excellent" looks like. I felt that I had at last found the guitar I had always
wanted, both in terms of looks and tone.
I've owned the guitar for just over four years now and play it pretty much every day - often for several hours. I never tire of its sound quality. The action is smooth and comfortable
and it's equally at home as an accompanying or lead instrument. For me it has exactly
the balance of strong bass and bell-like treble that I need and is playable in a variety
of tunings. I've used it for many private and public performances and it is
universally admired by musicians and non-musicians alike.
Thank you, Gus, for building such a beautiful work of art that has
become an important part of my life!
